Dom Quixote is the “place to be” in Luanda many people told me. For Angolan people, it is where they can spot socialites, actresses and models, all dressed up to go out. Since I’m far from being a model and actor myself, and that I was wearing my stupid jeans and a bad haircut, I didn’t feel very comfortable inside, nor very welcome. I would never have dared talking to one of these beautiful women and was rather grateful that I could be accepted within their world for an evening, staring at them.
I was very lucky to get in, probably because I was there so early it was still empty, but if you want to come and you are white, and you are a guy, try to bring a girl with you and don’t come too late. You will always get in I guess but it might just take a lot of time.
The music is the same as usual in Angola: Some house, some RNB, some kuduro, and unfortunately a lot of kizombas… The place in itself is far worst than a provincial club in France with bad music and a very basic settings.. It is crazy to thing that this can be luanda nightlife most happening place..
