LNL entre os 11 finalistas escolhidos pelo SeedStars World

A competição internacional de empresas startups SeedStars será realizada pela primeira vez em Angola no dia 24 de Outubro e vai contar com 11 projectos seleccionados. A realização da edição nacional é da KiandaHub, criada pela Associação StartUp Angola para promover o empreendedorismo no país.

As onze finalistas da competição, divulgadas pela Kianda Hub, compreendem projectos em vários sectores, da cultura à publicidade, da restauração às redes sociais. A competição vai escolher um representante angolano para o SeedStars mundial, a ser realizado em 2016 na Suíça, que vai premiar três startups com USD 500 mil cada.

No evento mundial, diversos investidores são convidados a conhecer os projectos. Segundo a organização, além do prémio oficial de USD 1,5 milhões para as três empresas vencedoras, investidores individuais realizaram um aporte de USD 20 milhões em diversas startups que estavam na competição.

Entre os 11 finalistas angolanos estão o Luanda NightLife (plataforma de avaliação de restaurantes, bares e hotéis), SOBA (moda sustentável), e ProxyPay (pagamentos online).

Os bilhetes para o evento de sábado, em Luanda, podem ser adquiridos no site da SeedStars. O evento será realizado no Espaço Bahia, na Baixa, das 14h às 20h e será falado inteiramente em inglês.

Seedstars World has unveiled the finalists for the Angolan leg of its startup competition, which will hold on October 24, 2015 at Espaço Bahia.

In no particular order, the finalists are listed below.

ProxyPay – a hosted platform that enables SMBs receive payments in Kwanzas through Multicaixa network.

Kwanza Online – an e-commerce and online payments provider.

LNL (Luanda Nightlife) – a restaurant review platform.

Makelabor – a collaborative platform where entrepreneurs find developers and investors.

Bitfyr – a platform to find, buy, promote and sell tickets for events.

Interactive Load – an African games Development Company and advertising platform for small businesses.

SOBA – a socially-responsible fashion store for branded clothing and accessories.

TEC RETINA – a B2B social network.

TECMICRO – a home automation company.

Jobartis – an online recruitment site.

Manifesto – a news aggregation app.

The finalists will pitch in front of a local and international jury consisting of Marcello Schermer, Regional Manager Africa, Seedstars World; Dima Diall, Strategic Account Executive, Microsoft; Armando Teixeira, Director at FACRA and others for a chance to claim top spot.

The winning startup automatically books a place at the global finals of Seedstars World Startup Competition holding in Geneva, Switzerland next year, where it will compete with over 55 regional winners from around the world for a juicy US$1.5million in investment.

Alisee de Tonnac, CEO of Seedstars World said, “Our goal is to create THE network for quality entrepreneurs around the world and help entrepreneurs, accelerators, co-working spaces and investors to interact with one another.”

The event will be organized by KiandaHub in partnership with Unitel and supported by Mozambican firm, UX and Menosfios.

The event, which has already been held in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and other African countries, promises to be filled with disruptive tech, inspirational keynote, networking sessions and so much more.

This year, Switzerland-based Seedstars World will travel to 52 countries across the world with the aim of reducing unemployment through the promotion and investment in entrepreneurship.
